Family Fun Day

We are pleased to be one of the sponsors at this Family Fun on Friday April 18th at Parley Sports Club, West Parley, Ferndown.

Entering wholeheartedly into the Festive Spirit, Edwards joined all the fun of the Christmas Fayre at Colehill First School on the evening of Friday 30th November.

We were delighted to sponsor the event by contributing first prize in the Raffle of £150 and staff were in attendance during the evening to hand out balloons! There was a fantastic turn out with a great variety of stalls - face painting, tattoos and a vast array of delicious homemade cakes to buy – to name but a few. And of course Santa came too, much to the delight of the children! We wish the school every success in their fundraising and congratulate all those who organised the event.

Save the Children Christmas Concert

Edwards are pleased to be involved in the Save the Children Christmas Concert which is being held at Wimborne Minster on the 15th December 2013, 2.30pm.

Tickets are available for £5.00 from the TIC, children under 10 go free.


Julia's House - Edwards Charity of the Year

Edwards are proud to announce that we will be supporting Julia's House this year with a variety of charity events including a sponsored sky dive by some of the Edwards team who will be dressed as super heroes and a sponsored half marathon by some of the fitter amongst us.y some of the fitter among us !

We will also be donating some of our profits to this wonderful charity.

Julia’s House is the only charity in Dorset dedicated to helping life-limited children and their families across the county and in South Wiltshire.

They offer regular respite sessions at their hospice in Corfe Mullen, Dorset, and in the family’s own home. They also run events for siblings and mums and dads and support the whole family.

Their nurses and carers provide life-changing support for parents and their children . They are there year-round and in a crisis, offering emergency respite and overnight care.

They need to raise £3.9 million in 2014, and receive less than 10 per cent of their total annual funding from the government. The rest of their essential income is raised through the generosity of the Dorset community, corporate partners and charitable foundations.

Please share this with everyone to help raise awareness of this wonderful charity and the amazing work they do.

Mayor of Verwood Charity Auction

The Mayor of Verwood, Peter Richardson, is holding a fund raising event on the 19th October. The Mayor of Verwood Town Charity Auction is to be held on the Saturday evening at the Verwood Sports and Social Club, Blackhill.

Edwards are pleased to be supporting this event, together with representatives from surrounding Towns and Parish Councils.

There will be a raffle, lucky numbered ticket prize and a Silent Auction running together with a main Auction to help the occasion be a success. All proceeds will be put to the three Charity organisations he is supporting at the end of the Mayoral year at the final meeting of the Council.

Tickets (£7 each for a single person and £12 if for a couple) are on sale now at the Verwood Council Offices; with information at a number of outlets in the town. Gifts, Donations and Promises are to be auctioned.

The three charities he is raising the profile of this year are Verwood Stroke Club, Action on Hearing Loss and Friends of Wessex Assisting Dogs.

Charity Race Night - Wimborne

We are pleased to report a great success at the Race Night last night.

We were delighted to have been invited to sponsor races in aid of two very worthy causes - Marie Curie and Home Start South East – East Dorset District Council Chairman’s chosen charities.

The event was well attended and a superb evening was had by all.


Sponsorship of Kingswood Youth Football Club

Edwards are proud to be part of the local community and have been lucky enough to be able to sponsor a local under 10's football club.

Kingswood Youth Football Club were founded in 1991 with just one single team playing on a school field. From there the Club has grown adding teams into multiple age groups ranging from u7 through to From there the club has grown adding teams into multiple age groups ranging from u7 thru to u16. Their teams play in a mix of either the Bournemouth Youth league or Dorset Youth leagues. Their team colour has always been the blue and red stripe shirts.

The team manager, Graham Dark commented;

'Running a club is tough to gain funding and we like to try and work with local businesses to help support the young children wanting to play the game. That is why we are extremely grateful to Edwards for the support they have given us this year and hope this can continue well into the future'

Wimborne First School Summer Fair

Edwards were pleased to be one of the Sponsors at the Wimborne First School Summer Fair. The company has sponsored this event for the last three years and are proud to be involved. The event was held on the 28th June.

Edwards funded the “Golden Ticket Competition”, where each pupil received a ticket to try to win a great prize; and the BBQ and Bar were also sponsored by Edwards to raise money for the PTFA.

The PTFA aim to organise great events for the families and children, for the spirit of the school and to raise funds for fun events and facilities for them.

Edwards were delighted to be involved and enjoyed the event immensely. And we are pleased to advise the school raised £1,600 towards their playground projects, to further enrich the children's school experience.


WIMBORNE FOOD FESTIVAL

WHAT A FANTASTIC WEEKEND !

Laughter could be heard on the Willow Walk Green this weekend at the Wimborne Food Festival. Edwards proudly sponsored the Helter Skelter and Vintage Carousel with a never ending queue of both children and grown up’s!

Team members from Wimborne, Ferndown and Verwood joined in the fun handing out Edwards balloons and treats supplied by Minster Sweets.

Grant Brooks, Director commented “we were delighted to sponsor this event; it was wonderful to see all the Wimborne community meeting together and taking advantage of the free rides. This superb event also attracted people from far and wide to explore our wonderful Town and demonstrates the popularity of this fantastic area”

High Mead Farm

Edwards were pleased to sponsor The Tickled Pig's birthday party, in aid of High Mead Therapeutic Farm to assist them in their attempt to buy a tractor.

Grand Charities Fair

Wimborne in Bloom organised the Grand Charities Fair, held in the Allendale Centre, Wimborne Minster on Saturday 10th November; raising over £5,000 for various causes. There were nearly 700 visitors on the day.

Wimborne in Bloom had a successful table with four Hampers as prizes and also the proceeds from the entrance money. Together these raised over £1,100 (included in the overall total above) thanks to Barclays Bank and their matched fundraising Scheme under their work in the Community Programme, which doubled the amount raised from the ’43 tables’ sold. Two of the four Hampers were generously donated, one by Vines Close Farm and the other by Edwards, Estate Agents.


Allenbourn School Summer Fete

Edwards were pleased to have sponsored a stall at Allenbourne Middle School's Summer Fete on the 10th July. Helping them to raise £2,860 enabling them to purchase much needed equipment and resources for the school.


Local Schools colouring competition

Edwards are proud to be sponsoring a Wimborne Minster colouring competition. We are keen to be involved with the local community and welcome the opportunity to be involved with local schools.

Six local schools are taking part in this fantastic competition and the winners will be chosen at the end of January.

Fantastic arts and crafts gift sets are part of the prizes for the lucky winners.

Holt FC Bike Ride

The rain was pouring but it didn’t stop the sponsored Cycle Ride!

The team were raising funds for the Holt Youth FC.

They have created their own pitch from nothing, installed drainage and now installed lights around it so they can train in the winter too! They are still needing to raise more funds for the lights.

Edwards sponsored the event by lining the route with their marketing boards and of course contributing to the event.

Grant Brooks Director commented. “We are always keen to support local events. Since opening in Wimborne we have shown our support to Wimborne in Bloom, Holt FC and School Fairs. As we are local people we feel it is incredibly important to support these events”
